Tonight the Toronto Maple Leafs have suffered a big loss as goaltender Anthony Stolarz has suffered an injury that has forced him to leave the game against the Ducks. Anthony Stolarz has been a revelation for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season putting up great numbers in tandem with Joseph Woll. Unfortunately this evening Stolarz's season has taken a frustrating turn as he suffered a lower-body injury against the Anaheim Ducks.

After suffering the injury Stolarz went down the tunnel and was replaced by Joseph Woll and he will not return tonight.

This is a huge loss for the Toronto Maple Leafs who were finally once again fully healthy after the recent return of Auston Matthews to the lineup. It seems like the Maple Leafs just cannot escape the injury bug from the opening day of the season when Woll went down to injury now to Stolarz missing time. Luckily this is not unfamiliar territory for the Maple Leafs with Woll going out earlier this year the team at least has a blueprint for who to call-up and how that will go. If Stolarz is going to miss games due to this injury we will likely see Dennis Hiledby come back up to the NHL roster. Hildeby in his 2 appearances this season for the Maple Leafs struggled with a 4.03 goals against average and a 0.869 save percentage. Hopefully, if he gets games this time around he is better prepared after getting back on track in the AHL and with the Maple Leafs' improved defensive play as Craig Berube gets his system in place. As more information is provided on Anthony Stolarz's injury status going forward we will pass along the latest updates to you.
