Elias Pettersson was a complete no-show at the 4 Nations tournament for Sweden, and Frank Seravalli called him out on X with some horrible statistics. The Vancouver Canucks had a fitting representation of Sweden's win against the Americans at the 4 Nations Face-Off. Elias Pettersson was on the bench, rewarding someone other than himself for being useful.
Pettersson had a 0 stat line all across the board
Pettersson had a low-profile tournament, and Monday was even worse. His stat for the night had zeroes on every line: zero goals, zero assists, zero shots, zero hits, and zero blocks, and NHL insider Frank Seravalli let it be known to the entire world.

Even on draws, he went 0-2. He sat on the bench for much of the third period and played only 9:54 of ice time, the least of any of the Swedish forwards. The only other skater with fewer seconds on the ice was Mattias Ekholm, who struggled with the flu. To be fair, the competition did not count. The earlier win for Canada against Finland had made Sweden with nil hopes for the final, and America's best players had locked up and rested. Competitive, yes, but with not the same passion as the matches of the weekend. Still, Pettersson underperformed in the tournament, producing only two on-goal opportunities in three games with 13:32 of average ice time. It wasn't what the Canucks had been expecting.

Whether this no-show at the tournament has any factor in his value to the team and to other teams who initially were interested in trading for him remains to be seen, but this is definitely as bad as it could have gotten for Pettersson at this tournament.
