It's no secret that Rutger McGroarty has attitude issues, and these problems don't seem to be improving, which has now cost the Jets from making a blockbuster trade.

The Jets were quiet on the signing front during free agency and didn't do much to improve their roster, and now it appears they have another problem to deal with, Rutger McGroarty's attitude. People have been calling McGroarty entitled, despite the fact he has yet to play an NHL game. It seems that word is spreading around the league regarding his poor attitude, which may have now cost the Jets a trade.

McIntyre said other teams are now hearing the same thing the #NHLJets are re: playing time/assurances. He added there may have been a trade that was close to happening last week but fell apart because the other team didn't like what they were hearing from the McGroarty camp.

The Jets have not felt that McGroarty has earned a spot in their lineup yet, despite the talent he possesses, and they will not simply give anyone a roster spot just because they are complaining. It seems as though a trade may have been the only option to appease McGroarty, but even that may not work out anymore.

"At least two other teams thought they had a deal for Rutger McGroarty during the first round of the draft. One of them, to my knowledge, was put off by the idea that his hope was a clear path to NHL playing time" - @WPGMurat with @hustlerama

Fans in Winnipeg are growing tired of not seeing their team make deep playoff runs, and a big distraction like this is not what the team needs going into a new season.
