The 12th overall pick in 2015, Denis Gurianov, is officially leaving North America after seven seasons in the NHL. In a recent paper, the Russian newspaper Sport-Express revealed that Gurianov, 27, is leaving the NHL. Indeed, he is set to join CSKA in the KHL after signing a two-year contract: Sport-Express reports former #TexasHockey #GoHabsGo #Preds #LetsGoFlyers Denis Gurianov has reached an agreement to sign a two-year contract with CSKA #KHL.

The forward played in 298 NHL games and scored 113 points, including 52 goals. He wore the uniforms of the Dallas Stars, the Montreal Canadiens, the Nashville Predators, and the Philadelphia Flyers. In the 2020 playoffs, Gurianov played an important role in the Stars' run to the Stanley Cup Finals in the bubble. Even though they ultimately lost against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the forward tallied 17 points, including 9 goals, in 27 games. Unfortunately, he never managed to keep that pace. In the following seasons, he never scored more than 31 points in a season. When his KHL contract ends in two years, he'll be 29, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him make an attempt to return to the NHL.
