We just learned that two new players have been submitted to the waivers today, as former 2013 Habs first overall pick Michael McCarron and intriguing Buffalo Sabres forward Vinny Hinostroza are available for free.

Hinostroza is 28 years old and has eight points in 19 games. He is a depth player who is capable of producing offensively. He scored 13 goals and 25 points in 62 games last year. He is completing the final year of his contract at $1.7 million. As for McCarron, he seemed to have found his niche in the Nashville Predators organization. He has two points in 15 games so far this season. It will be interesting to see if Kent Hughes might be tempted to pick up a player, given the many injuries in the lineup.
