Jesse Puljujärvi's stint with the Edmonton team, following his 2016 draft as the fourth overall pick, can only be deemed as an overall failure, with fault lying on the player, the organization, and the situation at large.

Although Jesse Puljujarvi has yet to produce a significant number of points during his time with Carolina, his overall performance has been commendable. In addition, he has found comfort in the company of several other Finnish players.

Sebastian Aho, a longtime friend of Puljujarvi, has been supportive of the power forward and, in a recent interview, shared that Puljujarvi's experience in Edmonton severely impacted his confidence and mental well-being to the point where he avoids discussing it.

"I think he is adapting better and better all the time. The game will definitely start to become more natural gradually. Yes, Jesse knows how to play," Aho said."

"I have no idea what happened there in Edmonton," Aho commented.

Jesse Puljujärvi's time with the Carolina Hurricanes represents a new beginning, following his departure from Edmonton where he faced significant challenges, both figuratively and literally.

It is clear that Puljujärvi's experience with the Oilers had a significant impact on his confidence and mental well-being. In December, prior to the trade, the 24-year-old opened up about his struggles, admitting that his confidence had plummeted to a point where he felt inadequate to play in the NHL.

This confession is certainly not what one expects from a player who was selected as the fourth overall pick. Nevertheless, it is hoped that Puljujärvi will regain his form and thrive in his new team with the Hurricanes.
