After the last game, all the attention was on Alex Pietrangelo because he left the penalty box to fight Matthew Tkachuk. Many people are asking for him to be suspended because it goes against NHL rule no. 70.4.

However, Pietrangelo received no consequences at all for his actions.

Official Explanation

A few days later, Pietrangelo surprised everyone with a statement. He said that a league employee opened the penalty box before the game ended and allowed him to step onto the ice.

"Alex Pietrangelo said that a league employee opened the penalty box at the end of last game and even asked if he could go on the ice before he did."

This settles the debate and explains why the League decided not to suspend him.

Now everyone is focused on game 5, which will take place on Tuesday night in Vegas.
