It took a while for Quebecer Alexis Lafrenière to finally come to terms with the Rangers, but they did. The team has no wiggle room under the salary cap, which certainly hurt his contract extension.

Another thing that's taking a long time is the time it's taking for him to unlock. We know Laffy has tremendous talent and the ability to produce, but he hasn't shown it for the past three years. The Rangers have decided to help him by giving him a new position.

Alexis will start the next campaign on the right wing.

"Alexis Lafrenière, on the change to right wing:

"I've always played on the left wing my whole career, but you have to be able to play both and I think for me, I can be good playing on the right too. I just have to adjust and it's no big deal, I'm just trying to get used to it with this big change."

What's more, the Quebecer starts training camp on a trio with Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider. It's safe to say that he'll have every chance to finally break through, and we love it!
