During the Montreal Canadiens' heartbreaking loss to the Florida Panthers last night, there was an absolutely unfortunate and unusual sequence that occurred, as defenseman Joel Edmundson accidentally injured a linesman, and the injury looked serious. The scene unfolded particularly quickly, as a skirmish between Joel Edmundson came to the aid of teammate Kirby Dach, hitting Radko Gudas from behind with a good double-check. Then defenseman Marc Staal stepped in and threw Edmundson to the ice, injuring the official in question in the process, knocking him down dangerously. The referee appeared to have suffered a knee injury and was writhing in pain. The kind of sequence you don't like to see, especially after a heated moment. Here is the footage in question: <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/BradyTrett/status/1608653555426267136?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1608653555426267136%7Ctwgr%5E7acb45656b83b3bd28659d39507899659c3532e3%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.habsetlnh.com%2FUne-scene-insolite-a-pris-une-bien-triste-tournure-lors-du-match-entre-le-Canadien-et-les-Panthers-hier-soir-193136'> </a></blockquote></div> Credit: <a href='https://www.fanadiens.com/equipe-lnh/canadiens-de-montreal/A-VOIR-Une-chute-inattendue-de-Joel-Edmundson-semble-avoir-blesse-gravement-un-officiel' class='link_marker' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Fanadians.com</a>
