The Calgary Flames have brought in Hockey Hall of Famer and all-time great Jarome Iginla to serve as Special Advisor to new General Manager Craig Conroy. <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/NHLFlames/status/1669419438880481280?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet'> </a></blockquote></div> Iginla is widely considered to be the greatest player to ever don a Flames sweater. The man affectionately known as 'Iggy', played 1154 NHL games with 625 goals and 675 assists across 21 seasons, 16 of those in Calgary. A beloved figure in Calgary, Iginla was the captain of the Flames nine years and is their all time leader in goals and games played. Perhaps the most enduring memory of Iginla in Calgary was his famous fight against Tampa Bay star Vincent Lecavalier during the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals. A rare fight between two superstars, the bout was won by Iginla after an intense brawl. <div class='youtube_container'><iframe class='youtube_video' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/qlT6NQ8NNlw' width='100%' loading='lazy' frameborder='0' title='' allow='autoplay; fullscreen' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> The Flames would go lose the '04 Finals to Tampa in heartbreaking fashion after Martin Gelinas appeared to score, but the refs missed it and did not blow the play dead. Iginla now gets to begin a new era in a re-shaped Flames front office, looking to rebound from a turbulent season.
