The goaltending situation is still bickering in Montreal. Jake Allen talked about it a few weeks ago: a three-way partnership in front of the net isn't ideal. And yet, it's shaping up to be just that. Logic dictates that Cayden Primeau should be put on the market, but he hasn't been inferior to the other two during training camp; in fact, he's been pretty solid. According to Renaud Lavoie, he absolutely must be traded, otherwise he could very well make the Habs regret it: What do we do with Cayden Primeau? Logic would dictate Laval. On the other hand, he's only 24 and he's having a good camp. I'm not telling you that he'll definitely be drafted, but the Habs would be taking a huge risk. He could be a regular NHL goalie, and if you lose him, the team could regress! [...] Ideally, we'd like to trade him! - Renaud Lavoie, on BPM Sports Lavoie has a point. We didn't expect Primeau to muddy the waters, but that's exactly what he's doing. It gives Kent Hughes more options, but a decision will have to be made as to who should go. One thing's for sure: there's a real danger of losing him to the waivers, if that's the team's decision.
