The NHL recently revised its rules to require players to wear helmets during warmups. The NHL is one of the few hockey leagues that previously allowed players to go without helmets during warmup, and many players grow up dreaming of their first warmup without one.

Apparently, Bedard is one of those players. In his first warmup in the NHL, he decided to break the NHL's rules and not wear a helmet.
