As we told you this morning, Lane Hutson's numbers in his first NCAA season are simply mind-boggling. He eclipsed those of a certain Cale Makar in the same league, at the same age. You can't learn to have such a dominant offensive flair as a defender. The CH gave him his chance despite his small stature, and no one was disappointed. Paired with Reinbacher, Hutson admits that the Habs' most recent first-round pick is the perfect type of defenseman to play on the same pair as him. Imagine what it could be like in a few years with the Habs. Getting back to Reinbacher, he also had kind words for Hutson. When you play with Lane, you get the puck quickly and you can give it back to him. After that, you have fun watching him. He's a really good offensive defenseman. I hope it's not too much of a comparison, but Hutson is in the Cale Makar mold. He skates so well, he does incredible things on ice. I'd love to play with him in the future. But there's still a long way to go before we start thinking about Montreal. - David Reinbacher Wow, to compare a Canadiens prospect to none other than Cale Makar is just incredible! We really do have a great defensive prospect on the Habs, probably the best in the NHL.

To tell you the truth, I had chills after the reaction of the spectators for my presence in the shootout - David Reinbacher

Reinbacher also compared his blue-line partner to one of the best defensemen in the NHL. https://t.co/GcQV1AinOI- J-F Chaumont (@JFChaumontJDM) July 4, 2023
