Dominique Ducharme's NHL head coaching career has been a roller coaster ride.

After inheriting the job after Claude Julien was fired in 2021, he led his team, against all odds, to the Stanley Cup Final. Unfortunately, the Habs lost to the mighty Lightning for their second consecutive cup.

A few months later, with long-term injuries to two key players in Carey Price and Shea Weber, the Tricolore had one of the worst seasons in their history. Ducharme tried to save his job, but to no avail, as after a wave of major firings in the club's leadership, the Quebec coach suffered the same fate in February 2022.

Yet, he had just signed a three-year contract the summer before, giving him a salary of $1.7 million until the end of the 2023-2024 season.

That said, even if he is still being paid by the Tricolore, that doesn't stop Ducharme from wanting to get back into the hockey world and we just learned that he has found a new job, as he has become a hockey advisor for the St. Jerome Panthers in the QAJHL.

His arrival in the organization was announced at the same time as other important changes in the club's management.

With a new group of coaches in place, Ducharme will be there to support the Panthers and facilitate their development in this environment. With his extensive coaching experience and past successes, he will be able to provide valuable assistance.

It is quite possible that Ducharme will remain in this role until his last year of contract is up before he tries again to coach in any league.
