The past week has been a busy one for the NHL. We've had the draft back-to-back, the opening of the free-agent market and the development camp. It's a perfect time for speculation, both in terms of the draft and potential trades and free-riders to be added to the team. Before the draft, there was a huge rumour sending the Habs' 5th pick to the Red Wings for their 9th and 17th picks, plus a promising young defenceman. Expert PM Perron had his say on the deal. <q>For the record, I would have made (accepted) the so-called trade between the Habs and the Red Wings that was circulating behind the scenes. I was convinced that Dvorsky was going to be available at the 9th pick. </q> That would have been the deal. 5th pick - Player the Wings wanted or Reinbacher for 9th pick - Dalibor Dvorsky 17th pick - Gabe Perreault + Young defenseman or goalie How about you? Obviously, it's hard to know after the fact, but one thing's for sure, the Habs believe in Reinbacher's potential, because some of the offers they received were very enticing, including one from the Red Wings.
