After a quiet summer and just six weeks before the start of training camp, there are finally rumors that the Calgary Flames are considering making a move.

Don't expect anything major, as their main focus is on retaining their core players for the long run.

Extention incoming?

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Flames are preparing the groundwork for an extension to keep Elias Lindholm in Calgary.

"The Flames would like to extend Elias Lindholm to a long-term contract worth between $8M and $9M annually."

What's being worked on is a deal worth 8 to 9 million dollars per season for Lindholm. While the exact contract length is still unknown, it's clear that the Flames want to keep him for as long as possible.

Lindholm's Value

Lindholm, 28, played in 80 games for the Flames last season. He scored 64 points, including 22 goals and 42 assists, solidifying his position in the Flames' top-six lineup.

Do you believe Lindholm's value is worth 8 or 9 million dollars?
