Florida Panthers Prove Tkachuk Wrong

Kieth Tkachuk made some controversial comments during a radio interview over 50 days ago. During this conversation, he labeled the Florida Panthers, his son Matthew's team, as 'soft.' This statement came at a time when the Panthers were battling for a wildcard spot, following a season in which they had claimed the President's Trophy but looked likely to miss the playoffs.

In the radio interview, Keith publicly admitted that he found the Panthers soft, which is a fair statement, it's his opinion, but considering that he's talking about the team his son is playing on, you'd think he'd stick up for his sons team a little bit more than he did. Obviously, this rubbed most viewers the wrong way, as these comments were made while the Panthers were battling for a spot in the playoffs, and it was looking like they were probably not gonna make it.

Since then, the Florida Panthers have done a full 180. They are only two victories away from making it to the Stanley Cup Final. They've shown their mettle by defeating stellar teams against all odds, like Boston and Toronto.
