With a team that is, on paper, far from competitive, the Canadiens still has some very good youngsters and prospects in its ranks. Montreal Hockey Now reporter Marco D'Amico revealed his top 5 CH players with the best trade value on the team.

Here are his rankings and why: 5A - Kirby Dach: According to him, he's already among the organization's untouchables, and admittedly, that makes sense. Kent Hughes has no desire to trade his young 6-foot-4 centre, not until he can evaluate what he has now, especially since the potential is so great. 5B - Kaiden Guhle: A unanimous choice, and he too is an untouchable. He has the potential to be a solid top-2 defender, who plays big quality minutes. 4 - Josh Anderson: Many will be surprised to learn that he has better trade value than Kaiden Guhle and Kirby Dach, but that seems to be the case. As you know, his name has been floating around in trade rumours this summer, but Kent Hughes never got his price. The demand is huge (and so is the price). There are rumours that he was almost traded for the seventh overall pick in 2022, but that obviously never materialised. 3 - Juraj Slafkovsky: A natural pick, and another untouchable one. 2 - Cole Caufield: A pillar of the organisation and its future. 1 - Nick Suzuki: The number one centre, possible future captain, franchise player, it's only natural that he has the best trade value.
