The NHL has done a commendable job overall in expanding its reach to new cities. With the recent success of expansion teams in Las Vegas and Seattle, there has been much speculation about adding one or two more teams to the league. One city that has been vying for an NHL team for some time now is Quebec City, the former home of the Quebec Nordiques before they were moved to Denver and rebranded as the Colorado Avalanche. However, according to hockey insider Kevin Weekes, the NHL might not be returning to Quebec City after all. Instead, there are reports that the league could be considering a return to Atlanta. Atlanta was granted an NHL franchise back on June 25, 1997, and the team became the Atlanta Thrashers. However, the franchise did not perform as expected and was eventually relocated to Winnipeg and rebranded as the new Winnipeg Jets. This isn't the news Quebec wants to hear but Weekes revealed there will be a announcement about development in Atlanta for a new team as early as tomorrow. <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/KevinWeekes/status/1647685394220056582?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1647685394220056582%7Ctwgr%5Edbb9f4ba82d092addee220b4a24753085c9d347e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.markerzone.com%2Fnews%2FKevin20Weekes20Reveals20Expansion20Project20in20a20Shocking20City'> </a></blockquote></div> <div class='youtube_container'><iframe class='youtube_video' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/0o492VlXcqI' width='100%' loading='lazy' frameborder='0' title='' allow='autoplay; fullscreen' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> <div class='youtube_container'><iframe class='youtube_video' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/dXGzsrGfCcc' width='100%' loading='lazy' frameborder='0' title='' allow='autoplay; fullscreen' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> Credit:<a href='https://www.markerzone.com/news/index.php?no=227977' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Markerzone</a>
