Today, the Montreal Canadiens organization released an important official statement regarding an update on the status of several of the club's injured players, including forward Sean Monahan, who has been out of action for the past few weeks.

"Sean Monahan:

Lower-body injury, progressing and skated for the first time today in Brossard." - Montreal Canadiens

We also got an update on Paul Byron:

"Paul Byron:

Injured his hip, he has been making more progress over the past two weeks and will continue to be evaluated in the coming weeks." - Montreal Canadiens

On David Savard:

"David Savard:

Injured his upper body, is making progress and has started skating again in Brossard." - Montreal Canadiens

And finally about Brendan Gallagher:

"Brendan Gallagher:

Progressing and wore a normal practice jersey today." - Montreal Canadiens

Obviously, this is all very good news for the Habs, who could benefit from the return of quality players very soon.

Also, in the event that Monahan could be traded in the next few months, his return to play could potentially help close a deal for him.
