The Habs have made an interesting hire in the last few days that has literally gone unnoticed.

According to reports from The Athletic's Arpon Basu and Marc-Antoine Godin, the Habs have hired former Philadelphia Flyers goalie Neil Little as their goalie scout.

According to the same reporters, Little would fill the void left by the loss of Sean Burke, who left the organization in recent months.

In a bid to fill the void left by the departure of Sean Burke, it was reported that the Tricolore had lured former goaltender Neil Little, a longtime member of the Philadelphia Flyers organization, into its fold. The latter has been hired as a professional scout and his job will be mainly to scout goalies. His expertise will be paired with that of Vincent Riendeau, who remains the scout for goaltenders at the amateur level. Little spent six years in the Florida Panthers organization and eight seasons before that with the Flyers. He spent the last year with the independent scouting service Team 33. - Arpon Basu & Marc-Antoine Godin

Clearly, this is a very interesting hire on the part of Habs management. Given that goalie scouting is an often neglected part of an organization, this one will be very useful in finding new talent in front of the net, because until proven otherwise, a worthy successor to Carey Price must still be found for the future of the franchise.

This will be a very valuable expertise within the Canadiens that will greatly help in the decision making process for future drafts.
