There are only a few games left in the 2022-2023 NHL season. While many teams have already qualified for the playoffs, others must fight until the end to hope to qualify.

In the case of the Lightning, their place is already assured, but the bad news has been piling up for the past few days, just before the start of the playoffs.

Indeed, Jon Cooper's team is struggling with an impressive wave of serious injuries, one of which is very worrisome, especially considering the price paid to acquire him.

"Jon Cooper told reporters after the game that his concern about Tanner Jeannot's leg injury was ''high ... of course."

The man who was dearly acquired at the trade deadline from the Nashville Predators could potentially miss the playoffs with a serious leg injury.

Recall that GM Julien BriseBois had paid for defenseman Cal Foote, as well as a first-round pick in 2025, a second-round pick in 2024 and 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks in 2023.

In addition to the potential loss of Jeannot, the team's second center Anthony Cirelli, forward Brandon Hagel and defenseman Erik Cernak all just suffered injuries. There is no medical update at this time, but let's just say it's not off to a good start for a series, especially against an opponent that will be formidable with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Moreover, the star player Nikita Kucherov would also have problems, he is clearly bothered by an injury. He temporarily left the game during the most recent game of his team.

Is this the year the Lightning's giant will fall in the playoffs?
