Although Jaroslav Halak has not been with the Habs since 2010, he remains a well-known and beloved figure among Habs fans. Carey Price had more potential back then, and a decision had to be made. The former CH goaltender nevertheless enjoyed a fine career in the league, and was able to be number one for many years. Lately, he's been playing second fiddle and, at 38, is still looking for a contract. In an interview with Slovak informant Tomas Prokop, Halak was asked about his compatriot Juraj Slafkovsky. According to him, fans don't have to worry about a slightly more disappointing rookie season. You could see him on the ice, he's got a good shot. Getting back to Halak, he's confident of signing an NHL contract within the next few days, but this will probably be his last year. He will then return to Europe.

As for his own future, Halak isn't ruling out a return to Europe after next season → https://t.co/2kU8VZ4nyn- DansLesCoulisses (@DLCoulisses) August 12, 2023
