With his hands tied by bad contracts awarded by his predecessor, Kent Hughes didn't change the face of the Habs much this summer. In fact, it was more useful to let players go than to sign them. With this logic in mind, <i>The Athletic</i> expert Dom Luszczyszyn has written a very interesting article on which NHL teams improved the most this summer. With great surprise, the Habs are in 10th place thanks to Joel Edmundson. <q>The Canadiens' big win, however, comes from an addition by subtraction. Joel Edmundson was once a defensive beast for the Tricolore, but those days are gone and the team is much better off with him far, far away from its lineup. - Dom Luszczyszyn</q> So, in his opinion, the Habs are a much better team without the former No. 44, and his departure has just helped the organization immensely. Admittedly, the young wolves on defense will get more ice time, but to say that Eddy was hurting the CH is pretty extreme.
