They don't call him The Great One for nothing. Wayne Gretzky is undoubtedly the greatest forward in hockey history, and perhaps even the greatest player of all time. Many like to say that if Bobby Orr or Mario Lemieux hadn't been injured... the fact remains that Gretzky played those games and racked up the points. And we say that with all due respect for Orr and Lemieux, who were extraordinary talents. <b>Did you know?</b> Wayne Gretzky was never drafted into the NHL. Yet he was quite an acquisition for the Edmonton Oilers, and we know the rest of the story. He also won the Conn Smythe Trophy twice, most recently in 1987-88. Jonathan Marchessault is entering the Conn Smythe discussion more and more this year. With the Golden Knights up 2-0 in the final series, they have a serious shot at the Stanley Cup. Marchessault is also undrafted and could become the first player since Wayne Gretzky to win the Conn Smythe without being drafted. <iiffrraammee src=https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FRDS%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0Y43CDLoZjvDAMz4eqtSbThUpQaMpzYLK9hjqdZLWQeky8h81ZxKVWkKithLaJucwl&show_text=true height=674 style=width:100%;max-width:500px;border:none;overflow:hidden scrolling=no frameborder=0 allowfullscreen=true allow=autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share></iiffrraammee>
