Kent Hughes has said it loud and clear: there will be a change in the Habs' line-up and defeat will no longer be tolerated. They want to start winning this year. In this sense, there are bound to be signings and/or trades over the summer, and this will be the case for most teams. In this regard, tipsters Michael Russo and David Pagnotta have compiled a list of players on the market, and both have a Habs defenseman and forward on their respective lists. They are Mike Hoffman and Joel Edmundson.

Summer Trade Watch List https://t.co/Km9WQMSVNQ- The Fourth Period (@TFP) June 19, 2023

NHL offseason trade board 2.0: The latest on the Jets, Leafs, Flyers and more - and how it impacts the market

ICYMI https://t.co/Rzsqxw8vD1- Michael Russo (@RussoHockey) June 12, 2023
Seeing Joel Edmundson's name on these lists is no surprise, as the fullback has been in all sorts of rumors since before the trade deadline. Chances are, he's already played his last game in a Canadiens jersey. As for Hoffman, it's hardly surprising that he's on the market, but Kent Hughes will probably have to keep some salary if he wants to trade him. We think this will be easier to do at next year's trade deadline.
