The explanation is that the Blackhawks would have a solid, established player, while the Maple Leafs would have a little over 10 million in salary cap room to sign other players, in addition to not taking the risk of losing number 34 for nothing next summer. We strongly believe that such a deal will never work, and that the Blackhawks will keep Connor Bedard regardless of the offer they receive. They'll build around him as they did 15 years ago with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews.
