Kent Hughes may have to change his plans and that's worrisome for the Canadiens' future

The GM never hid the fact that he would like to reproduce this kind of transaction to bring a good young player with a lot of potential and he was counting on the Panthers' first round pick to do so. However, this pick is slipping more and more towards the end of the first round and is therefore less valuable.

So if the Maple Leafs continue to stall, Hughes will have to rethink his plans and pull off a minor miracle if he hopes to pick up a good kid like Dach with the 29th overall pick. That would be a major game changer and could be worrisome for the future if he has to sacrifice draft picks or prospects from the organization.
