In yesterday's tight game between the Maple Leafs and the Panthers, the intensity was high. Despite giving all they had, the Leafs were unable to secure a win against the Panthers, resulting in a loss for the first two games of the series in front of their home crowd.

One Panthers player, Sam Bennett, took things too far and was involved in two dirty plays.

These unsportsmanlike plays could be subject to review by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

The first incident involved Matthew Knies. As they were positioned behind Florida's net, Bennett brutally took down Knies.

The second incident was even more dangerous.

As Michael Bunting positioned himself in front of Sergei Bobrovsky, he received a cross-check to the head. Before he had a chance to get back on his feet, another cross-check struck him in the back.

Here's the video:

Both plays were undeniably dirty and could result in a suspension for Bennett.

UPDATE: The verdict is in for Bennett!

He received a $5,000 fine.
