St-Louis' importance is widely underestimated, but he seems to be genuinely appreciated by his players, becoming a positive figure for choosing the Montreal organization. Proof of this is Sean Monahan's recent press briefing, when he decided to stay another year with the Montreal Canadiens, and mentioned St-Louis' impact on his decision. Every year, we hear that Montreal is not an attractive city for autonomous players due to various factors such as media pressure, language, climate and taxes. However, this may soon change, thanks to the influence of head coach Martin St-Louis. This is great news for the organization and the fans, as it could attract more players in the future. It's a major change from the team's previous management. It's well known that players talk to each other a lot, whatever their team, so it's likely that the reputation of Montreal and its organization will improve over the next few years. This will go a long way to convincing general manager Kent Hughes not only to bring in independent players, but also to keep those already in the organization. With a promising young core, talented up-and-coming players and the addition of Martin St-Louis, it's only to be expected that more and more NHL players will be interested in the Montreal team. All that remains is for Kent Hughes to come up with attractive offers to make these aspirations a reality.

Sean Monahan at a press briefing: Marty (St-Louis) was one of the main reasons why I wanted to extend my deal with the #CH!.

I think we may still be underestimating MSL's contribution to the organization! #Habs #Canadiens- Marc-Olivier Beaudoin (@MOBeaudoin1) June 21, 2023

Martin St-Louis is in the Hall of Fame as a player, but he's also in the Hall of Fame as a person.
