With all the injuries the Habs suffered last year, there was a lot of personnel turnover. Add to that the trades and signings, and Kent Hughes' year on the job has been a busy one, but it's coming to an end soon. The Canadiens' general manager will be able to take a vacation, but before he does, he has to come to an agreement with one last player. Jesse Ylonen is the only member of the organization not yet under contract. The Finn is currently an unrestricted free agent. Hughes would prefer to sign him to a two-part contract, given the congestion in Montreal's forward ranks. Negotiations are underway and we are confident that both sides will be able to reach an agreement. We expect a contract similar to that of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, i.e. two years and around 1 million per year. The first year with two parts and the 2nd only NHL is also an option that would make sense.

After that, he can rest a little. Just a bit!
