It hasn't been a surprise that Milan Lucic was not having the best time of his career in Calgary, but the power forward has now confirmed, and commented on the terrible time he spent with the Flames.

For those who aren't familiar with the situation, Lucic's future in Calgary has been up in the air for some time now. The Flames had reportedly been exploring options to trade him, but with Lucic's hefty contract and declining production on the ice, finding a taker was proving difficult.

Lucic use to be a force to be reckoned with. Being one of the most dominant players in the entire NHL, things started declining for him as he moved to Alberta, first with the Edmonton Oilers, then joining their provincial rivals, the Calgary Flames. However for such a forceful heavyweight, it seems his contract was just too heavy for him to carry.

Players don't usually celebrate their big contracts coming to an end, but Lucic is beyond excited it's finally over.

Things hit rock bottom for the player, and that much is evident because he has admitted that he even considered retiring from the game. Although he reached new lows in Alberta, Lucic was thankful that the Calgary fans stuck by him and helped him push forward, regardless of his depleting morale.

With all that being said, and his expired contract now giving him a chance to climb back up the hill, Lucic has confirmed that he will continue to play in the NHL, and will weigh his options as he considers where his next destination will be.

As seen on - Milan Lucic reveals just how bad things got for him in Calgary.
