For those who don't know this story, in the last few hours we learned that reporter Pat Hickey, who has covered the Habs for the <i>Montreal Gazette</i> for many, many years, has announced his retirement. However, this is not an ordinary retirement as we learned that his paper would be making significant cuts. However, management wanted to keep Hickey's services at the expense of other reporters, but he decided to announce his retirement to save the job of a younger reporter.
