Major disaster: Official CH press release announcing Cole Caufield's absence for a while.

Unfortunately for the Habs, the team's young star, Cole Caufield, was hit very hard in the second period of the game against the Calgary Flames.

The latter limped off to the dressing room and it was confirmed a little later that he will not return to the game via an official statement from the Tricolore. It was confirmed that he has an upper body injury.

From this release and from the visual of the contact he suffered against Trevor Lewis of the Flames, everything seems to indicate that he could be struggling with symptoms of a concussion.

If this is the case, then we can expect Caufield to miss at least a week, as outlined in the National League's concussion protocol rules.

This will be an absolutely disastrous absence for the CH, which has four games left until next Monday. This means that the number 22 could miss several important meetings in the coming days.

In 28 games this season, the 21-year-old American scored 16 goals and 25 points. His absence could hurt the Habs.
