Reporter Stu Cowan of The Gazette had a chance to chat with National Hockey League commissioner Gary Bettman. In the interview, the issue of the Habs and the new administration was discussed and here are the comments of the NHL's top man: Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have done a great job. I think Jeff really focused on the changes that this franchise needed to be more competitive and I think they pushed all the right buttons to get there. Pretty unusual for Bettman to be so complimentary of a manager. In fact, there are several rumours that it was Bettman himself who recommended the hiring of Gorton to Geoff Molson. That's interesting!
