The 2023-24 edition of the Habs will be a very special one, with far too many players for the number of positions available. A bit like last year, there are far too many forwards on the roster, and it's going to be a real headache for Martin St-Louis. As many will recall, the coach was forced to leave out Jonathan Drouin at the start of the campaign, even though he was 100%. The same fate could well be in store for Mike Hoffman this year. The reason is simple: St-Louis doesn't like passengers, and Hoffman is one. The Canadiens' head coach would no doubt prefer to play young players with heart and soul, rather than a veteran at the end of his career who can't keep up with the game. We're not privy to the secrets of the gods, but one thing is certain: it would be very surprising if Hoffman were to play all 82 regular-season games, even if he remains healthy.

Finding a roster spot for him early in the season will be a big challenge → https://t.co/tjJK9Zg4RF- DansLesCoulisses (@DLCoulisses) July 19, 2023
