When the free-agent market opened, Alex Belzile decided to try his luck with the New York Rangers. The only reason he decided to sign there and not in Montreal was that he had a real chance of making the team. The Rangers are up against the salary cap, and there's room for players like Belzile, while Montreal is saturated with forwards. However, plans have changed. The Rangers have made their intentions clear, by submitting Belzile to the waivers. Kent Hughes could therefore bring him back to play in Laval. If you ask the Quebecer if he'd rather play for the CH or the Rangers, in my opinion, he'd rather play for the Rocket. Now that his chances of playing with New York are nil, barring a recall during the season, the choice seems obvious.
