Montreal Canadiens: very interesting statement about Joshua Roy

When the Canadiens acquired him in 2021 in the 5th round, little did they know that Joshua Roy would go on to win the QMJHL Scoring Championship the following year, as well as becoming an important member of Junior Team Canada.

But that's exactly what happened. The young man is progressing at top speed, and even though he produced a little less last season, he worked hard on the defensive side of his game, so much so that he is now considered a forward who has a 200ft game.

Roy will be lining up for the Laval Rocket this season, and barring a huge surprise at camp, it's almost set in stone. However, if the CH players are dealing with non-stop injuries as they have been for the past two seasons, he should be one of the first to be recalled.

That's what Nicolas Desrosiers, from Marqueur.com mentions, and I agree with him. Joshua is in the category of players most likely to get a call from the big club in times of need, along with Emil Heineman and Sean Farrell.

Remember, this is how Rafaël Harvey-Pinard got his chance last year, and he never looked back. One thing's for sure, with so few spots available on the Habs to bring youngsters up this year, the fight for ice time will be fierce.
