According to an insider, the 2018 World Junior Case is continuing to progress, with court files showing proof against 5 players, and that 2 players may be witnesses.

Rick Westhead Reveals Status of 2018 World Junior Court Case

A new development has just been revealed by TSN's Rick Westhead, who has been told that Court Files showing proof from the victim will be sent to the 5 accused players' lawyers today. In addition to this, 2 witnesses have been ruled to remain anonymous, leading to speculation that these witnesses could be other players.

During a 15 minute hearing, lawyers for four current and one former NHL players spoke to the justice of the peace in a London, Ont., court about next steps in this case.

The justice of the peace ordered a publication ban on the identity of the alleged victim and two witnesses in the case.

Crown attorney Heather Donkers told the court that «substantial» paper and audio evidence collected by London police in connection with the case - know as disclosure - would be sent today by courier to the players' lawyers.

The next hearing date in the case was scheduled for Apr. 30, at which time lawyers will discuss and review disclosure in the case.

Police Press Conference to Take Place Today

There have been few details revealed about the process of the legal proceedings and how the players have been during the investigation. However, this should change as the London Police are set to have a press conference today to answer questions about the case.

We will have more details as the case continues to develop.
