When you have a special player like Patrice Bergeron in your line-up, you'd be willing to give him the moon to never retire. Unfortunately for Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery, Patrice decided to retire after all, but not for lack of trying. Jim made Bergeron quite an offer. I told Patrice that if he wanted to come and play 60, 40 or 10 games, I'd take him - Jim Montgomery, Jack-Adams Trophy winner. Bergeron won the Frank Selke Trophy for a sixth time. - Via J-F Chaumont It's a pretty phenomenal offer, but number 37 certainly wouldn't have wanted to give the minimum. He's spent his career giving his 110%, even when injured. To receive an offer like this shows just how much he was appreciated not only by the Bruins, but by the hockey world in general. An excellent player and an even better person. Happy retirement, Patrice!

I told Patrice that if he wanted to come and play 60, 40 or 10 games, I'd take him - Jim Montgomery, who won the Jack-Adams Trophy.

Bergeron won the Frank-Selke Trophy for a sixth time. https://t.co/qA4lIAqBq4- J-F Chaumont (@JFChaumontJDM) June 27, 2023
