There have been rumors concerning Matt Murray since he was injured right before the start of the playoffs. Everyone thought he'd be traded or bought out, but something else happened.

Now, it's finally confirmed.

The Leafs placed Murray on the LTIR.

They can now remove his salary from the payroll.

Also, this cements next year's tandem of Ilya Samsonov and Joseph Woll, although Treliving could decide to trade for a top goalie.
