While appearing on TVA Sports with JiC, legendary former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Patrick Roy gave his frank, but very relevant opinion on the recent success of current CH goaltender Samuel Montembeault. Here is what he had to say about Montembeault: I thought Montembeault was often beaten on direct shots, and that was the little side that I found a little annoying, but I must admit that for quite some time, direct shots are practically not going in anymore, he controls his rebounds well, so Francois [Allaire] was right on that side, he's a young guy who's improving. Sometimes some develop later than others. But he's earning himself a spot in the National League and hats off to him. - Patrick Roy We can see that even the Canadiens famous number 33 is pleasantly surprised by Montembeault's performance, who has worked hard on his weaknesses in order to reach another level in his performances. As Roy mentioned, some goalies take longer to develop, and everything points to Monty having that profile, since he works so hard in practice to become the best goalie he can be.
