Former Montreal Canadiens Phillip Danault seems to be enjoying his new life in Los Angeles more and more, as evidenced by his new video on Instagram that was picked up by Habs&LNH. Not far from the beach, you can watch the sunrise with the Kings' number 24.

With the support of his wife, Phillip Danault made the decision to sign a six-year contract that will pay him $33 million in 2021. The defensive centre wanted to gain more freedom on the offensive end, as well as give his next coach an interesting option.

It must be said that the fit was perfect with the Los Angeles Kings. The team absolutely wanted him. With 27 goals and 51 points, it was the first time in his career that the former Canadiens centre reached the 20-goal plateau.

Even worse, he more than doubled his number of goals compared to his best season with Montreal, when he scored only 13. It must be said that the resources and responsibilities were greater in Los Angeles. The division was also less homogeneous this year.

The Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Seattle Kraken are three rebuilding teams. The Vancouver Canucks and Las Vegas Golden Knights have been floundering at times this season. The Edmonton Oilers are not known for their defensive brilliance.

Nonetheless, Phillip Danault has seized the opportunity that was handed to him upon his arrival in California.
