The Maple Leafs have made some major moves this summer, replenishing this roster with some solid veteran talent, but among that were some solid young names joining the team too.

A PTO

One of the main acquisitions of youth for Toronto was 25-year old center Noah Gregor, whom the team signed to a PTO early in the summer, giving him a chance to win a spot on this talented roster.

In 178 career games with the Sharks, the Alberta native has tallied a solid 26 goals and 51 points, and while he wasn't good enough to secure a full contract this summer, he's opened up on why Toronto was the best spot for him.

A solid move for both parties

In a recent interview, Gregor opened up on how he went into the summer looking for a full contract, but throughout it all, Toronto and their PTO offer were one of the only teams consistently in talks with him, and that's ultimately what helped him make his decision.

Ever really since the first day of free agency there, Toronto's kind of been a team that I've been in talks with.

Ultimately, it's a great move for both parties, as it allows him the chance to force his way onto the roster, but if he doesn't make it, the Leafs salary cap is spared, so it makes sense for both parties as a win-win deal.
