The Boston Bruins had a phenomenal regular season in 2022-23, and after their disappointing playoff run, we've seen so many changes, with the likes of Tyler Bertuzzi, Taylor Hall, David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron on the way out, and now, it appears another young name could follow.
A talented defenseman

According to a report from an anonymous scout in the North East, the Bruins could be soon looking to move on from Matt Grzelcyk, the 29-year old defenseman who's been a solid piece for them. Chatter is picking up more as I scout preseason games here, I don't really know about (Derek) Forbort, but I can tell you that teams are interested in Grzelcyk. It's unclear how in the know this scout could be, but given the breakout performances of Mason Lohrei, it could be a smart move from the Bruins to offload a solid D-man.
A consistent performer
In 382 NHL games, Matt Grzelcyk has put up a total of 23 goals and 124 points, with 20 or more points in his last five seasons, and with a palatable cap hit, it's a move that some teams could jump on. With all their losses, it's unclear just how well the Bruins can follow up a historic 2022-23 campaign, but if their young players can continue to emerge, look for them to be active in the trade market as they look for a deep playoff run once again.
