Recent reports indicate that the Edmonton Oilers are actively exploring options to strengthen their goaltending situation.

While the Oilers have an impressive ability to outscore many of their opponents during the regular season, their Achilles' heel emerges in the postseason when games become tighter and low-scoring affairs. This persistent issue has plagued the team ever since the arrival of star players Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in Edmonton.

Currently, the Oilers rely on goaltenders Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner, who have displayed moments of brilliance on the ice. Regrettably for the Oilers, these flashes of excellence have not translated into consistent performance. As a solution to this goaltending issue, the team is eyeing a former Vezina Trophy recipient to come to their rescue.

When delving into the trade market, one name that frequently emerges as a viable option is Linus Ullmark, a former Vezina Trophy winner and the number one goaltender during the record-setting 2022-23 season of the Boston Bruins.

Ullmark's career has been going very well since joining the Bruins. However, his current status is one of expendability, given the presence of the young and arguably equally talented Jeremy Swayman in the Bruins' organization.

As a result, numerous teams, including the Oilers, are closely monitoring Ullmark's situation. It is worth noting that for the Bruins to part ways with Ullmark, any offer on the table would likely need to be exceptionally enticing.
