The Sabres got off to a relatively slow start but seemed to be getting things together recently. Now one of their players may have set the team back as he was ejected from their game against the Devils tonight.

Clifton Goes Head Hunting

Sabres defenseman Connor Clifton hit the Devils captain up high and the officials saw it all the way. Clifton was given a major and match penalty on the play. After review the call stood and the defenseman was ejected from the game.

Hischier was shaken up on the play as he stayed down on the ice for quite some time following the hit but he did eventually skate off on his own but he immediately went to the Devils locker room.

The Sabres and Devils are currently tied 2-2 as the game enters the first intermission. We will have to see if the Devils captain returns for the second period.
