The Canadiens were active this week, acquiring defenseman Nicolas Beaudin from Chicago. The 23-year-old Quebecer didn't take too long to report to his new team, as he is already expected to potentially play tonight in a two-game series against the Rochester Americans. In an interview on BPM Sports, Beaudin revealed what team general manager Kent Hughes told him during their meeting. <q>They told me I've been on their radar for a long time, that I need to be patient and that at some point I'm going to get my chance. -Nicolas Beaudin</q> Incidentally, the former first-round pick in 2018 had also revealed that he has played mostly right-handed since the beginning of his professional career, despite being a left-handed defenseman. This aspect of his game is quite interesting, especially since the right side of the defensive brigade is much weaker than the left side. He could fill a need in the event of an injury to Chris Wideman, Johnathan Kovacevic or David Savard. <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/BPMSportsRadio/status/1585767421713219584?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1585767421713219584%7Ctwgr%5Ed0e75bb2e5d92a0836aaee1cfebc1a31dc9039ff%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rumeursdetransaction.com%2FKent-Hughes-a-fait-une-promesse-a-Nicolas-Beaudin-169973'> </a></blockquote></div> <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/Marqueur/status/1585738229453656064'> </a></blockquote></div> Credit: <a href='https://www.rumeursdetransaction.com/equipe-lnh/canadiens-de-montreal/Kent-Hughes-a-fait-une-promesse-a-Nicolas-Beaudin' class='link_marker' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Trade Rumors</a>
