The Habs are well positioned at the fifth pick in the upcoming NHL draft. It's a good thing, because there is a top 5 in sight, but according to Nicolas Cloutier, Kent Hughes would be interested in a less popular player. This is defenseman David Reinbacher, who is increasingly being compared to Moritz Seider. Here are Cloutier's words:

A trusted source in Europe tells me that the #CH has a particular interest in David Reinbacher. His head coach last season, who compared him to Seider, also feels the defenseman will be drafted very early on June 28. https://t.co/Pgrze5c2sf- Nicolas Cloutier (@NCloutierTVA) May 17, 2023
So despite the very talented and promising forwards that will still be available, Hughes could go out and fill the hole on the right side of the defense for the Habs by selecting Reinbacher.
