Now that training camp is over and the final cuts have been announced, it's time to get down to business. The Habs held their first practice with all 23 starters and released the potential lineups for Wednesday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

First of all, Logan Mailloux will not be in the lineup. He was at practice to test his shoulder. When he is fully recovered, he will join the London Knights in the OHL.

That said, the defence pairings are bound to be shaken up, but it's on the offensive side that there's intrigue. The first trio is no surprise, while the second trio is Kirby Dach at centre and Sean Monahan on the left. This means that number 91 will be able to take big bets if needed, as this is not Dach's strength.

On their right, Mike Hoffman and Jonathan Drouin shared the spot, as did Evgenii Dadonov and Michael Pezzetta on the fourth line. Is Martin St-Louis trying to create internal competition? He may well be.

As for the young Slafkovsky, pairing him with a calm, responsible centre like Christian Dvorak and a feisty winger who rushes the net like Brendan Gallagher is a good thing. He'll be able to gain confidence with the two veterans and play his game.
